Janice Grace
DPodM MRCPod

I qualified in 1984 from the Northern College of Chiropody in Salford. I was employed by South Sefton Health Authority in the NHS Community Podiatry Department. I have worked in community clinics and also in the patient’s home environment. As part of my duties I have undertaken new patient assessments, treated their foot problems and formulated treatment plans for them. I also give advice on foot care and footwear. Also, I supervise students during their training and regularly perform nail surgery.

In 2010 I completed a module on tissue viability and wound healing. I have also done a rotation at Aintree University Hospital with the Podiatry Diabetes Service.

I have been responsible for managing a caseload of high risk patients. This includes those with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, vascular problems and nerve damage.

I keep up to date with new developments and have recently taken part in an audit undertaken by the HCPC into the Continuing Professional Development of podiatrists. I successfully met the standards, demonstrating that I have continued to learn and develop for the benefit of my patients.

I became an associate at Andrew Boyle Podiatry in 2013,  working part time at Healthpoint Formby, and part time in the NHS.

In 2017, I left my NHS post to work entirely in private practice at Healthpoint Formby and Healthpoint Ainsdale.

After previously working in other areas of healthcare, in 2011 I graduated from Northampton University with a BSc(Hons) in Podiatry. I was also awarded “Best Clinical Performance” in recognition of my consistent and conscientious performance in my final year.

I gained Specialist Podiatrist status whilst working for the NHS in Staffordshire, and since returning to this area I have worked as a locum for several NHS Trusts.

I am committed to my professional development and have a post-graduate qualification in Diabetes Care from Warwick University. I have had specialist rotations in diabetes and biomechanics teams, and volunteered as a podiatrist at the London marathon.

I joined Andrew Boyle Podiatry as an associate in 2019, working at Healthpoint Formby. The rest of my week is with Virgin Care within the West Lancashire NHS Podiatry team. As a Specialist Podiatrist I carry out all aspects of podiatry care.
